Feature Length (90 min). Co-Written with Marilisa Walker. A feature-length horror-comedy loosely based on Frankenstein , in which a deranged woman tries to create the perfect man – by harvesting her one favorite body part from each of the imperfect men she dates. Of course, she has to kill these men first, in order to obtain their body parts. But beneath the murder and mayhem is a simple story of someone needing to be loved.
"A great read... Even though there are some gruesome moments of this story that would make Hannibal Lecter blemish [sic], this is an engaging and energetic psychological thriller that will astonish many people in its graphic depictions of murder and bodily mutilation. Women will likely feel empowered that the serial killer is an atypical female character, whose malevolent existence was created by lewd and irresponsible behaviors committed by young men. Horror fans will appreciate this level of horror and suspense, since it is presented in such a bold and original matter." (Official feedback, WILDSound Writing Festival, 2013)
" Visually, this thing is fantastic. I can picture everything clearly. Even the stuff I didn't want to... I love how casual everything is. I love the Ashley Madison aspect of the piece (That she only chooses men who are cheating on their wives)... The stuff with Jack breaking in and her bringing the creature to life was very page turning... I could see this being REALLY popular on Netflix Horror searches. All in all, it was a script I'll never forget!" (Ruckus Rockwell Reading Series, 2018)
" The concept of a woman creating her own "perfect man" from body parts of different men is creative and intriguing. It taps into themes of obsession, revenge, and playing God... Maryanne is a complex, well-developed protagonist. We understand her traumatic backstory that has led her down this dark path. She is both sympathetic and horrifying... There are some genuinely surprising twists, like Detective Andi's fate. The story keeps the audience guessing... The humor and campiness helps offset some of the grislier scenes. The juxtaposition works well." (Greenlight Coverage, 2024)
" I was grabbed from the first page - that was a roller coaster!... It's interesting to think about what kind of person would do something like this (if it were scientifically possible, of course) and how to approach it from a character perspective. My mind went immediately to Carey Mulligan in "Promising Young Woman" [and] a movie called "I Spit on Your Grave"... As an actor, a woman, and someone who would generally advocate for sexual assault survivors, I appreciate that we get that glimpse of MaryAnne being kind of a shitty person to her sister even before she's assaulted... I enjoy characters that aren't morally straightforward - MaryAnne has this very weird moral code. [Most of] her victims are either cheating spouses or rapists. But she's also the type of person that would drug her family members with actual poison... If I was lucky enough to audition/be cast, it would be fun to dive into a character like this." (Amy Tallmadge, Actor, 2024)
" [A WOMAN'S TOUCH] is very funny. Strangely sexually charged and a little gross, but I enjoyed the story." (Mikel Fair, Oregon Scream Week, 2019)
